Gibbs Gives Back to Hometown Foundation

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – A superstar running back who is set to realize his dreams is giving back to his hometown.

Dalton High alum Jahmyr Gibbs has volunteered to become an official ambassador for Family Frameworks in Dalton.

That organization engages 2,500 students a year in Whitfield, Murray and Gordon counties in seven-week classes designed to help them learn healthy ways to develop relationships.

Gibbs will be shooting videos, talking to students and donating to help Family Frameworks expand their program to more North Georgia kids.

The Executive Director for Family Frameworks, Danielle Putnam, said, “What we really do is really encourage them with the ‘Hey, he did it. You can do it too!’ His background, he didn’t have the easiest pathway to follow, right? He had to make a lot of great choices, and reach out to community for help, right? The fact that he did it, so many of the students can relate with him, and it’s very exciting for them.”

Gibbs declared for the NFL Draft this off-season after playing for Alabama and Georgia Tech in college.

Family Frameworks is looking for those interested in helping facilitate these classes for students.
