“Give Back Classic” Collects Toys for Children in Need

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Chattanooga Firefighters and Postal Workers came together at Brainerd High School this afternoon for a charity basketball game.

“The Give Back Classic” consisted of two teams of 12 firefighters versus 12 postal workers inside of the High-Jackson Gymnasium.

Attendees were asked to bring toys to the event which are going to be given to 40 children at Woodmore Elementary School being sponsored by the Brainerd Panther basketball team.

Justin Sims, a Chattanooga Firefighter and organizer for the “Give Back Classic”, said that, “We just appreciate everybody for coming out. Everybody for donating gifts. We’re sure that the kids are going to enjoy their presents on Christmas when we give back to them.”

The Brainerd basketball team will also be reading to the kids at Woodmore that will be receiving gifts. Other charities being benefited by the event were Heidi’s Little Dreamers and Motivated on Purpose.
