Gov. Haslam visits Woodmore Elementary

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) Governor Bill Haslam joined the chorus of condolences today for Woodmore Elementary after this week’s deadly school bus crash.

The Governor stopped by the school Wednesday morning and spoke with teachers and administrators.

Then he talked about the tragedy outside at a growing memorial at the school flag.

He said that “the whole state has reacted with incredible sympathy” to the Woodmore victims.

And he added, “Unfortunately, this city has had more than its share of tragedies.”

The Governor stopped short of endorsing a seat belt law, but he says it is time for the state to reconsider school bus safety.
