Grace Baptist Academy Rebuilding after Easter Tornadoes

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) – Grace Baptist Academy is well into their demolition and rebuilding process after Tornadoes ripped through their campus last Easter.

On Wednesday, the school received a $2,000 grant from Cindy’s Choice to work towards the transformation of the campus.

School officials tell News 12 they are just now beginning the rebuilding process after months of demolition work.

Grace Academy has been housed inside Morris Hill Baptist Church since the tornadoes happened.

“This loss is devastating. It really hits you right to the core. Many of our teachers and families have been with us since the beginning in 1985 when the school started. Its been 35 years now and it’s all gone. But, when we begin to see the vision of the future; perhaps the next 35 years, oh wow the enthusiasm,” says Matthew Pollock, Grace Baptist Academy.

School officials hope to be back on their campus come the year 2022.
