Habitat for Humanity dedicates home to local widow
Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Chattanooga family will soon move into a new home, thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
The non-profit held a dedication ceremony today for its 265th home.
LaToya Pollard, who’s a widow, and her two young sons will be living here.
One of her boys tells us what he wants to do once they move in next week.
“Put up my basketball rim that I had since I was eight. They said I couldn’t put it up in the apartment complex and that made me mad. So, I get to put up that and work on my basketball,” said Jatorrey Gilmore, Pollard’s 13 year old son.
Pollard says she looks forward to decorating her home with brand new items.
Habitat for Humanity has been in the area for more than 31 years.
