Hamilton County School Board and County Commission Discuss School Overflow Issues

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – For more than an hour, members of the Hamilton County School board and County commission came together to talk about the needs of Hamilton County Schools, including facility maintenance, and most importantly the constant overflow of students.

County Commissioner Tim Boyd said he’s pushing for a new K-12 program as a solution to the growing problem, “I’m sure that the parents in that zoned area of district seven, eight and nine could move into those and relieve some of the pressure at Ooltewah… East Hamilton Middle High, and replace the fallen down school at CSLA.”

Board members said if a new school is build, it would be zoned for district five, which is one of the main areas currently suffering from overflow.
