HCSO Conducts County Wide “Warrant Round Up”

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, along with the help of several other agencies are working together to take those with warrants off the street.

On Wednesday, the agencies conducted a county wide “warrant round up.”

Jim Hammond says,  “We will continue to do this. We kind of follow the monitor that says there is no place to run, there is no place to hide, and we will find you.”

Sheriff Jim Hammond credits the 10 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies coming together to put 59 people with active warrants behind bars.

One of those, agencies is the ATF.

Two of the most “high profile” people placed behind bars are Tony Acuff who was on the Hamilton County’s “Top 12 Most Wanted” list for attempted first degree murder, along with several other charges.

And Darrien Metcalf, who was wanted for attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and aggravated assault possession firearm.

Sheriff Hammond says there are several ways the agencies were able to make these arrests.

“We also have because of the enforcement, traffic enforcement and are other investigative techniques run across these folks as were out there, if you’re over the court house you know we run the most wanted pictures,” said Hammond.
