Head-on collision temporarily shut down Ooltewah-Georgetown Road
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Ooltewah-Georgetown Road. The crash was a head on collision, resulting in severe damage to both vehicles.
It happened around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
One vehicle was in the ditch when emergency personnel arrived. A mother and her three children were in that vehicle. The fire department removed a door to help the driver out of the car.
Fire officials said they were all taken to a local hospital.
Additionally, they said the driver of the second vehicle had minor injuries. This individual refused service from EMS, according to the fire department.
Fire officials said Ooltewah-Georgetown Road, near McKenzie Farm Drive, was temporarily shut down. They said crews had to clear debris and fluid from the road.
The road has now reopened.
