Hearing held for man accused of killing woman and leaving her body in trunk of car

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A man accused of killing a woman and then leaving her body in the trunk of a car, had his preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Chattanooga Police found Tammy Hall’s body last month in the back of wrecked vehicle that Joshua Mincy was said to be driving.

On Tuesday, three witnesses testified. A woman described what she saw before the crash. An officer testified saying Mincy ran off after the crash and he found him and took him into custody.

“I observed Mr. Mincy come running out from behind the house down like a little hill and driveway toward the road. I exited the vehicle, put him at gun point waited to other officers could respond. Put him in custody,” said Sergeant John Watkins, with the Chattanooga Police Department.

An investigator with the Chattanooga Police Department, Daryl Slaughter, told the Judge that Mincy’s story was all over the place. He said Mincy referred to Hall as Pam.

“He said that she was, Pam, who he was stating as Pam, was his aunt. I said, ‘Your aunt?’ He said, ‘She is not really my aunt, she is my cousin.’ I said, Your cousin?’ He said, ‘She is really not my cousin.’ He later said she is not really related but is like related,” Slaughter said.

The case will now go to a grand jury.
