Heritage Girls Win Top Ten Showdown Against NW Whitfield

Ringgold, GA-(WDEF) In a battle of top ten teams, the Heritage girls beat Northwest Whitfield 62-51 on Friday night at Heritage high school.
Heritage entered the contest ranked 7th in the latest Class AAAA Georgia prep poll, while the Lady Bruins were ranked 5th.
NW Whitfield had some early success behind the arc, but they finished the game 6-of-20 behind the arc.
Heritage led by three at the half, and they extended the advantage to six to start the third quarter before pulling away in the final period.
Emily Wiley led Heritage with 23 points, while Shayla Ludy added 15.
Bria Clemons paced NW Whitfield with 14 points.
The Lady Generals handed NW Whitfield their first loss of the year in region play, and now both teams are tied for first atop the region standings.
