Hooked On Science – Hair Dryer Ping Pong Ball Launcher

“Did you know you can turn your hair dryer into a ping pong launcher? Yea, it sounds like fun, right? You’re going to want to try this experiment, but before you do kids, have an adult around, wear the appropriate safety gear, do not eat or drink your science experiment. Check it out, see how I’ve engineered my ping pong ball launcher with my hair dryer. I’ve attached some pieces from the hardware store to my hair dryer. I’m going to turn it on. Next, I’m going to attach the ping pong balls to the top. Wow! Replay this is so fun! Ping pong balls are everywhere. This is about pushes and pulls. Remember, a push or a pull is a force. We’re launching, we’re forcing those ping pong balls out of the ping pong ball launcher by using the air from the hair dryer. For Hooked On Science, I’m Jason Lindsey.”

PLEASE follow these safety precautions when doing any science experiment.
• ALWAYS have an adult present.
• ALWAYS wear the correct safety gear while doing any experiment.
• NEVER eat or drink anything while doing any experiment.
• REMEMBER experiments may require marbles, small balls, balloons, and other small parts. Those objects could become a CHOKING HAZARD. Adults are to perform those experiments using these objects. Any child can choke or suffocate on uninflated or broken balloons. Keep uninflated or broken balloons away from children.

Check the Hooked on Science page for more science experiments.
