Human remains found in shallow grave in central Alabama
QUINTON, Ala. (AP) – Authorities say human remains were found in a shallow grave in central Alabama.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Christian tells local news media that the remains were located behind the Alabama Power Company Miller Stream Plant around 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Christian says the discovery was made by volunteers helping in a search for missing couple.
Christian says volunteers have been searching for a 39-year-old Duston Turner and 30-year-old Jennifer Phillips. They have been missing since Sept. 14.
Al.com reports that deputies found one set of partially buried human remains in shallow grave. The remains have not been identified.
