Insurance Agent accused of not passing on clients’ checks
ALTAMONT, Tennessee (WDEF) – An insurance agent in Grundy County has been indicted on charges of ripping off his clients.
Investigators say Troy E. Shrum took premiums from customers but never passed them on to the insurance companies.
So the companies cancelled the policies.
They say this happened over a five year period.
He has been under investigation for a couple of years.
Shrum was indicted on two counts of Theft of Property and two counts of Insurance Fraud.
He turned himself in to the Grundy County jail on Friday and posted bail.
