Jordan Smith special will air on public television here at Christmas

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) WTCI will air the Jordan Smith holiday special twice at Christmas.

The Lee University graduate released an album of Christmas music this fall and created the special to promote it.

“Jordan Smith ‘Tis the Season” will air at 10 PM on Christmas Eve and then again at 1 PM on Christmas Day.

It is a one hour concert special.

Tis the Season is Smith’s second recording, making him the biggest selling artist from The Voice.

“As a community PBS station we are proud to share this exciting holiday concert with our viewers,” says WTCI President and CEO Paul Grove. “Celebrating an artist with such strong local ties is an exciting part of our mission to tell the stories that make the Tennessee Valley region so culturally strong.”

Produced by multiple Grammy ® Award-winning composer and songwriter David Foster this special concert will feature many of the songs on the holiday special, including his personal favorite, “(You’re a Mean One) Mr. Grinch” and is led by Jordan’s musical director Cheche Alara and backed by a string and horns/woodwind section that showcases the Harlan, Kentucky native singing 12 classic and popular songs.
