Lauren Alaina nominated for New Artist of the Year by CMA
NEW YORK, New York (WDEF) – It is a sign of her rising star in the country music field that Chattanooga area native Lauren Alaina was picked to help announce this year’s CMA nominations on Good Morning America.
But the real coup was snaring one of those nominations for herself.
The LFO grad is one of five nominees for New Artist of the Year.

This means she may actually do more than just attend this year’s awards show. She may get some stage time.
Of course, this has been a huge year for her with the single Road Less Travelled going to #1.
Alaina has been nominated for awards before, and even won.
She was nominated for New Female Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of County Music and then won Breakthrough Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards.
But this is her biggest awards moment yet.
