Lawyer seeking deal for 87 year old tazed by police

CHATSWORTH, Georgia (WDEF) – A lawyer for an 87 year old Chatsworth woman who was tazed is seeking a settlement.

According to the Dalton Daily Citizen, lawyers for Martha Al-Bishara want to reach an agreement with the City of Chatsworth.

In August, police responded to reports of a woman with a knife on property of the Boys and Girl’s club.

Family members say Al-Bishara was on the grounds with a steak knife in hand, cutting dandelions in the lawn.

Officers say she didn’t listen when they told her to put down the knife.

Relatives say she didn”t understand because she speaks minimal English.
