Lighthouse Collective proves free and safe events for kids on Sunday in July

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF)- A Chattanooga non profit is using Sunday’s In July to give kids something to do that’s positive in their life.

The Lighthouse Collective is holding No Smoke Sundays as a way for teenagers to get out and have fun in a safe environment.

There are also mentors and role models there, to bond with the kids, so they can avoid gun and gang violence.

“It’s you’re going to the rec centers. It’s going to their spring events. Its been very consistent with them. With many of us who mentor kids we know that we have to be consistent with them. So that’s why, I say, you don’t do something like this one time and then you go away. You make it consistent and you keep on doing it,” said LaDarius Price, Lighthouse Collective.
