Local Covid – 19 Task Force Announces its End

The Hamilton county Covid -19 task force is announcing its end next Tuesday. Exactly one year after they first started. Throughout the past year, many healthcare professionals, researchers, and community leaders gave their expertise on how to handle the pandemic. The task force has been a valuable resource to Chattanooga and Hamilton County’s policymakers.

This end comes as vaccines are becoming more available and there is consistent declines in COVID 19 cases.

Rae Bond, CEO of Chattanooga – Hamilton Medical Society says, “All reports are that each of the vaccination locations are moving smoothly, appointments are filling up quickly, so there is interest in demand. So, I just have to salute them for the job, the community mobilization job they’ve done.” Bond says about twenty five percent of Hamilton county residents have already recieved one dose of the vaccine.
