Local home destroyed by house fire
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Sunday, the Flat Top and Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Departments responded to reports of heavy smoke at a home located at 13627 Jones Gap Road.
According to the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management (HCEMS), while first responders were enroute, several neighbors were pounding on the front door to see if anyone was inside the home.
Neighbors on the scene called 911 reporting they could see fire inside the home.
Flat Top fire officials reported the house was fully involved.
While they established a water supply and conducted a defensive attack to keep the fire from spreading, the house was destroyed by fire.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
The family consisting of three adults will be receiving emergency assistance by Southeast Emergency Response.
