Longhorn Steakhouse hosts breakfast fundraiser for Woodmore

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) — A well known restaurant chain is helping the families impacted by the Woodmore Elementary deadly bus crash.

This morning, Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants throughout the area hosted pancake breakfasts to raise money for the Woodmore Foundation.

Some of the children who were on-board the bus were also at the fundraiser.

They say they’re grateful for the community’s support.

“They did this because of the Woodmore students that were on the bus, and you did this because you know that God was with them on the bus, and that the survivors are still alive,” says Alonna Stevenson who was on the Woodmore bus.

“It means a lot to us here. The staff really wanted to get involved. They wanted to do something. They approached me about having a pancake breakfast, which I thought was awesome that my staff wanted to do something,” says John Castleberry with Longhorn.

Stevenson’s brother was also on the bus that crashed, and is still in the hospital.

Family members say he’s expected to make a full recovery.
