LongHorn team members raising money for manager injured in car accident
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Brandy Delashmitt is a manager at LongHorn Steakhouse in Chattanooga.
She’s also a mother of four, and a wife who will have been married for seven years on Monday.
Her husband also works for the restaurant.
In fact, LongHorn is where the two met.
“She’s my best friend,” Isabella Ford said.
Ford is a manager at the restaurant, and works with Delashmitt.
On Tuesday, Ford was at a work meeting when she got a frightening phone call.
Ford said that’s how she found out her friend was in a car accident, and had been taken to a hospital.
“She’s the strongest person that I’ve ever met. She’s an amazing woman, and she’s fighting to get home to those babies,” Ford said.
Delashmitt’s LongHorn family wanted to show support for their beloved employee.
So, on Saturday they opened restaurant doors early, and held a pancake breakfast in her honor.
“Pancakes and sausage, we’re asking for five dollars at the door for donations. All the proceeds are going to Brandy and her family,” LongHorn Managing Partner Jon Castleberry said.
In addition, the crew started a Go Fund Me page, and are taking donations at the restaurant to help the Delashmitt family.
“Her husband is staying with her and not working. So, we’re trying to do whatever we can to help the family out since she’s our family,” Castleberry said.
Delashmitt is expected to make full, but long recovery.
One that could take six months to a year.
