Lookout Mountain to Remember King’s Dream Speech

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – A bell-ringing ceremony on Lookout Mountain is among events being held across the country Wednesday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.
   
Lookout Mountain was mentioned in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous "I Have a Dream" speech.
   
The program at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is set for 2:30 p.m. at the New York Peace Monument at Point Park on Lookout Mountain.
   
Fourth-graders from Orchard Knob Elementary are scheduled to read portions of King’s "I Have a Dream" speech, followed by a bell-ringing ceremony at 3 p.m.
   
The event is free to the public.
