Lookouts Fail to Hold Late Lead in Falling to Biloxi
(lookouts.com) The Chattanooga Lookouts could not hold on to a late lead in a 4-2 loss to the Biloxi Shuckers. It was Chattanooga’s fourth consecutive loss.
Starting pitcher Kohl Stewart was outstanding for the Lookouts. His only blemish came in the fourth inning when he surrendered a solo shot to Jake Gatewoor in the fourth. He finished the night going 6.1 innings while striking out eight batters. It was the third time this season he has tallied at least eight strikeouts.
Down one runs in the seventh the home team’s bats came alive. Mitchell Kranson led off the seventh with a single to left-center. After a Jaylin Davis walk and an out, Alex Perez smacked a double to bring home Kranson. Davis attempted to score, but was thrown out at home. With two outs Ryan Walkerr laced a single to bring home Perez and take the 2-1 lead.
The lead only lasted until the eighth, when Biloxi added two runs on RBI singles by Lucas Erceg and Clint Coulter. They added one in the ninth on a homer by Keston Hiura.
