Lookouts Stadium groundbreaking date may change
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Groundbreaking of the new Lookouts Stadium was reported to start next month.
But fans may have to wait a few more weeks before construction begins.
Officials from the mayors office said that they are fine tuning their plans for the 120-acre site.
Their meetings have covered traffic patterns, Geo-technical operations and zoning.
Ellis Smith, Director of Special Projects said that they are also still negotiating the bond, “We’re also at the same time looking at interest rates right now, and it’s tough. What we want is most of the money to go towards building a stadium not paying interest, so we’re trying to make sure we get the best deal for tax payers as well.”
Groundbreaking is likely to be moved back.
A late summer date is the target.
