Love Gives Wheels wraps up, but Salvation Army still needs your help

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The Salvation Army just wrapped up its successful Love Gives Wheels event for another year.
That’s a 36-hour straight drive to get bicycles for all of the Salvation Army angel tree kids.
The Chattanooga area stepped up and adopted each and every angel this year, but that doesn’t mean our work is done.
Kimberly George of the Salvation Army explained, "Salvation Army would like to encourage folks to give generously at the red kettles this weekend and throughout the week.  We’re trying to make up a deficit. We are about $20,000 behind where we were this time last year.  Now we’re grateful all of the angels have been adopted, but we need you to be generous at the red kettles.  So thank you again for adopting these angles, but please if you have a little extra cash, donate them to the red kettles when you hear the bells."
You can find the Salvation Army red kettles at stores and malls across the Tennessee Valley.
