ATHENS, Ga. (AP) – An investigation into reports of counterfeit money showing up at businesses in Winder has led authorities to arrest a Statham man.

Winder Police have arrested 33-year-old Michael James Crowe on two counts of forgery, possession of tools used in a crime and possession of drug related objects. Bond information and whether he has an attorney was not known Saturday.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports police searched Crowe’s home Tuesday and found 17 mobile devices, six digital memory cards, two computers, three ink jet printers and other materials used to generate counterfeit money.
