Man arrested for aggravated rape

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police arrested 36-year-old Shalone Wingate for aggravated rape Monday.

The affidavit says Wingate showed up at the victim’s apartment on Pearl Street on April 13th.

The victim told police Wingate was her boyfriend.

She told them Wingate came to her apartment and questioned her about who she had just gotten off the phone with before slapping her to the ground.

He sat on her back and held a knife to her face.

He threatened her saying he better not catch her with someone else.

She made up a story to get him off her back, saying she needed to go to the restroom.

He then asked for sex, and she told him no, but she says he forced himself on her.

Afterwards he offered to drive her to school with her car that he keeps and doesn’t let her drive.

The report says she purposefully did not take a shower to keep from washing away what he did.

Wingate remains in jail on a $150,000 bond.

Wingate has been arrested numerous times on various drugs and violence charges, but all the charges have been dismissed.
