Man arrested after road rage shooting in north Georgia
ACWORTH, Ga. (AP) – Authorities say a man has been arrested in connection with a road rage shooting that left one person injured in north Georgia.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jay Baker says 34-year-old Ronald Beswick-Diaz was arrested Saturday after leading a police chase into Cobb County. The 35-year-old victim, Joseph Parker, was shot in the leg, neck and arm. He was taken to Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Baker says Beswick-Diaz is accused of firing shots at Parker after one motorist cut off the other, causing an argument between them.
Beswick-Diaz is being held at Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. He is charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm near a roadway, aggressive driving, aggravated stalking, terroristic threats and acts, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
