Man charged with setting a convenience store clerk’s car on fire

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A local man has been arrested on charges he set a man’s car on fire at a convenience store Tuesday night.

A clerk at the Mapco on Lee Highway says he got into an argument with a customer around 10:30.

He says the man then went out into the parking lot and tried to set the clerk’s car on fire.

Tri Community firefighters put it out with an extinguisher before it caused much damage.

Chattanooga police and Hamilton County deputes found Christopher Rozema nearby.

He faces charges of setting fire to personal property and public intoxication.
