Man faces charges after confrontation with teens rolling a yard

FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) A Sylvania Alabama man turns himself in for a weekend incident in which a teenager was shot in the hip.

64-year old Ronnie Lee Neeley faces charges of menacing, assault and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

DeKalb Sheriff Jimmy Harris says the 16 year old was with a group of juveniles who were trying to roll a neighbor’s yard.

The Sheriff says Neeley confronted them on Saturday and fired into their car.

The teen was inside the vehicle when he was hit by the bullet.

He was treated and released from the hospital.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris states “This is a traumatic incident that could have been tragic had the bullet taken a different path. We are very thankful that the child did not suffer any more injury than he did.”
