Man falls from rope swing in Pocket Wilderness

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Some authorities in Hamilton County spent their evening rescuing a group of people after a man falls from a rope swing.

The call came in around 7:30 Saturday evening.

According to Hamilton County spokeswoman Amy Maxwell, a man had fallen from a man-made rope swing and hit his head on some rocks at the Blue Hole swimming area.

Due to a swollen creek from recent rain, he and the people he was with were unable to cross the first creek crossing at the Pocket Wilderness at the foot of Mowbray Mountain.

Crews were able to set up a line and rescue the group.
