Manhunt resumes in Marion County for Most Wanted suspect

WHITWELL, Tennessee (WDEF) – The search resumes this morning for Dewayne Halfacre in Marion County.

And the schools are closed today in Whitwell while they do it.

The wanted armed robber has eluded law enforcement now for more than two days.

He is now on the TBI’s 10 Most Wanted List.

The Sheriff believes he popped up again last night around the Ace Hardware at Highway 283 and 28.

They searched the building, but didn’t spot him.

U.S. Marshals have now joined local law enforcement and state troopers in the search.

There is a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of Halfacre.

He is wanted for the robbery of a convenience store in Rutherford County on Friday.

But Halfacre also has outstanding warrants in several Tennessee towns and in Georgia.
