McCallie Chasing Fourth Consecutive State Championship

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) McCallie hits the field this season chasing their fourth consecutive state championship.
But to add another ring, Big Blue will have to rely on plenty of new faces.
McCallie steps into the 30-in-30 spotlight.

You win three straight state titles, you got a dynasty going. But you know the competition is looking to topple it.
Said receiver Marcellus Barnes Jr:”We know it’s a big target on our backs. We really want to come in. Just feel like that really didn’t happen. Act like we are back ar zero. Ground zero. Feel like we haven’t won anything.”
Reporter:”Do you study how to stay on top very much?”
Said head coach Ralph Potter:”We don’t even really talk about it much. You just go back and try to do what you do, and do it a little bit better all the time.”
McCallie has a new quarterback. All the way from Canada. Jeremy St. Hilaire.
Said Barnes:”We have a quarterback that can really move. A lot of height on him. Weight. We are able to mix some things in because of his athletic ability.”
Said Potter:”He’s got a pretty quick release. Yeah. And he throws a ball that I think is pretty easy to catch.”
Defensively, McCallie must replace a big anchor.
Said Potter:”Well you miss James Howard down there. James was such a dominant force. He really was somebody that was unblockable. I’m not sure that we have anybody that can quite replace him in terms of his physical capability.”
While Big Blue may have to find several new starters, at least they’ve got a big roster to choose from.
Said Potter:”As of right now we have 97 on the roster, and we’ve got a lot of competition out here. So a lot of guys are trying to get themselves to the level that they can be successful and play.”
