Northwest Whitfield football hoping the family feel will lead to on-field success

TUNNEL HILL, Georgia (WDEF)-Northwest Whitfield football players say they’re basically family since most of them have grown up around each other their entire lives.

Saying this is where I grew up. This is where my hometown. This is where the people I’ve known for so long. It’s nice to be playing with my brothers ever since I was way young.

It’s a tight-knit group and we spend a lot of time together. We work together we get in trouble together we do good things together. We accomplish and we’re family together. When you do all those things you’re destined to put in the work in the off-season to become closer and usually the closer a team is the more success you’ll have.

For the last four years they have also had The same starting quarterback Owen Brooker

Me and Owen we’ve known each other for a long time. If anything happened to him say to be like something happened to me. He’s like a brother to me.

It makes everything a little bit easier.

For the past two season northwest Whitfield season has come to an end in the second round of the playoffs.

Oh shoot I just wanna win. Heck I’ve been here for years. We made it to the second round past two years. I’m just excited to go out there and hopefully we will, second round hopefully more.

We need to continue to work, stay healthy, and we have the windows close games. Cedartown got up on us 27 nothing we cut it back and had the ball single score a couple times and the second half never pushed over that hump and we gotta find a way to do that.
