Players adjusting to new positions on the East Ridge football field
EAST RIDGE, Tennessee (WDEF)-East Ridge football is gearing up for the season and head coach Chad Barger sees that his defense is ahead of the offense.
“Defensively we seem to be a little bit further along than we are offensively. All fence is all about execution and it’s going to take some repetition and things of that nature but I think it’ll come together,” said Barger.
“Still got a little bit more work to do and then things will come together,” said Ellis.
Jalen Ellis played a lot of quarterback last year so he is able to guide his teammate Jermaine Blackstock in the QB role this year.
“Giving him a little bit of advice on how certain things are going to run.”
“He’s done a fantastic job of working in there and he seems to handle it pretty well so he looks like he’s ready to roll.”
Barger said east ridge has to stay away from the injury bug due to only around 45 players.
“Make sure we in shape and stuff and make sure we’re prepared drinking right and eating right. As long as the players that we got staying and they’re focused you know we’re gonna be good.”
