McCallie Soccer Star Drew Viscomi Signs With Northwestern

During national signing day on Wednesday another sort of football player signed with a big name school.
McCallie’s Drew Viscomi signed to play soccer at Northwestern.
According to McCallie coach Chris Cushenberry, Viscomi is the first kid from the Chattanooga area to sign with a Power five conference in well over a decade.
Viscomi is an All-American, and he set the Blue Tornado’s single season scoring record last year with thirty goals.
Said Cushenberry:”His club team won the state championship this year. They also won the region premiere league which covers a lot of the Southeast, and Drew was the leading scorer on that team. He is an elite player. If it was football, a lot more people would know who he is.”
Said Vicsomi:”Growing up, college soccer wasn’t really something in the picture until probably high school, and even then, I didn’t really know until really last year that I had a good idea that I’d be playing college soccer. Yeah, it’s a great feeling. It’s just a huge blessing.”
