McKamey Animal Center Hosts Kitten Shower

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Who doesn’t love kittens, right? Well, McKamey Animal Center is throwing their famous Kitten Shower, allowing locals to stop by, socialize and cuddle with the furry little animals.

Every year the event is held just before the summer kicks off, because cats are seasonal animals and the center is usually flooded with hundreds of kittens around this time of year.

“Some of them don’t have moms, so they can’t feed themselves,” said animal care and placement manager, Katie Christie, ” So we’re also here to recruit new foster partners that would want to take these guys home and help them grow up to be big cats.”

The money raised at today’s event will help the animal center meet new foster partners, as well as help foster families pay for the supplies needed to care for the kittens. As of today, the kittens are still too young for adoption, but if you’re looking to become a foster partner, click here.
