McKamey Animal Center over 220% capacity; all animals free through end of May

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The McKamey Animal Center (MAC) is over 220% capacity, which means it is time for the community to step in and help.

They say they have over 600 animals in a building designed to hold around 275.

Through the end of May, all animals will be free and they are offering other pre-adoption and fostering options for many animals not yet ready for full adoption.

Also, on Saturday at 1 p.m., potential adopters are invited to join us for a “behind the scenes” tour of areas not typically open to the public to view the many highly adoptable animals, they MAC says.

“We need the public’s help now, more than ever,” said MAC’s Executive Director Inga Fricke.  “If you’ve thought about adopting a new pet, now is the time. If you can’t adopt, please consider becoming a temporary foster. Even just sharing our social media posts of adoptable animals can help.”
