Meigs County Expects to Keep the Success Train Rolling

Decatur, TN-(WDEF-TV) Meigs County has been one of the most successful high school football teams in our area in recent years, and they expect even more success this fall. The Tigers leap into the 30-in-30 spotlight.

Meigs Co has averaged 12 wins a year over the last six seasons. Talk about setting a standard.
Said lineman Landon Thompson:”Winning has always as long as I have been in the Meigs Co school system. Winning has always been the aspect that it’s your goal for football was to win. Win, win, win and not lose.”
Maybe that’s why the Tigers still remain confident this year, despite having fewer than ten seniors.
Said head coach Jason Fitzgerald:”We’ve got a lot of kids that have played. A belief around here. A work ethic. These kids know how to work.”
Said defensive end Dalton Purgason:”We have a good workout program. We come out here and bust our tail off during practice. We just come out here and get it done really.”
To get it done of offense, the Tigers will lean on a new quarterback. Right now Ethan Meadows is leading the charge.
Said Fitzgerald:”I have all the confidence in the world in him. He’s a great athlete. Been out for a couple of years, but we’re just excited to have him back with us and look forward to seeing what he can do.”
Coach Fitzgerald is glad running back Tylan Kraskouskas is back too. Last summer he was hurt in an AT

V accident.
Said Fitzgerald:”This time last year he had two broken legs below the knee cap, and he’s going to start at tailback for us. He was in one of those Razors. It flipped and landed on his legs below the knee cap. If you had told me he was going to walk straight again it would have shocked me, but he’s out here running around. He played some basketball during basketball season already, so that’s really good.”
