Memorial Holiday Traffic Fatalities

(WDEF) The Tennessee Highway Patrol released preliminary numbers from the Memorial Day weekend.

5 People died in car crashes..

One was alcohol related.

There were 10 fatalities last year.

THP officers arrested 153 suspects on suspicion of DUI, and they issued 1,532 seat belt citations statewide.

Georgia officials report 17 people were killed in traffic wrecks.

That’s almost triple the number from last year.

Alabama officials say 3 people died, and none of them were wearing seatbelts.
