Minor fire at Silverdale Academy Friday Morning

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Officials say a minor fire this morning at the Silverdale Academy has forced them to close the main entrance to the elementary building for Friday.

The fire alarm went off around 5:30 AM.

School officials say it was a fire in a storage closet.

And it was contained by the school sprinkler system.

However, they did suffer water damage as a result.

All Academy business will be conducted through the high school entrance at door #1.

“We are thankful on so many levels and praise Jesus that we can continue business as usual today.”

They are conducting middle and high school registration today.

The first day of classes are next Wednesday.
