Mocs’ Dan Earl excited to be a part of Chattanooga community
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Red Wolves honored the new head coach of Mocs men’s basketball Dan Earl at the start of Saturday’s match against FC Tucson.
Earl is busy recruiting not just players but coaching staff, as well. The reigning Southern Conference champions were out at the Chattanooga Red Wolves match to celebrate last season’s successes and next season’s beginnings.
The sold out Red Wolves crowd welcomed the victors and their new head coach. Earl even started the match with a ceremonial first score.
The Mocs have already secured two huge — in height and talent — transfers for next year, Jake Stephens from VMI and Jamal Johnson from UAB. Earl says he’s excited to be creating this team for this community.
“One of the best things about coming down here on top of being the coach at UTC, which I’m humbled and honored to do that, is just the community,” Earl said. “We were able to go to a Lookouts game one night. We’re here at the soccer game tonight. We’re working constantly, long days, but it’s nice to get away for a couple minutes and get out in the community, so looking forward to meeting more people going forward.”
