Mocs Hoping to Rebound in FCS Showdown With JSU

Chattanooga-(WDEF) The Mocs nearly pulled off a rare win over a division one team last week against Central Michigan.

But no time for remorse.
13th ranked Chattanooga has an FCS showdown with Jacksonville State.

Chattanooga had Central Michigan on the ropes. They led 16-0 in the first half before falling 20-16.
Said running back Derrick Craine,"I think we kind of got a little big-headed going into the second half. We just didn’t keep pushing forward. We just kind of got level. Kind of lost our energy."
   It was a tough loss.
It would have been a huge feather in the cap for the Mocs to have beaten a D-One team.
Said head coach Russ Huesman,"At a team meeting on Friday I told them. I said guys, it’s over. When you walk out of this room, that game is gone. Don’t worry about it. Put a smile on your face."
Josh Freeman is smiling because the Mocs are hosting a top ten team in 9th ranked Jacksonville State.
"You like those big games. You like those top ten teams. It brings the best out of you. The competition is always high. It’s always a great environment."
Said Craine,"This is a rival game for us. I kind of feel that way. Kind of getting that vibe at practice."
The Mocs are calling for a ‘White Out’ Saturday.
Fans are encouraged to wear white.
Huesman admits he’ll be disappointed if there’s not a huge turnout for a showdown of top twenty teams.
"I mean if we can’t get them (fans) out there this Saturday with the number nine versus the number 13 against Jacksonville State with them traveling. We’ll just never get them. We can work it all we want. We can talk about it all we want. If we don’t get them this Saturday, ain’t happening. You can just bank on ten or eleven thousand for the rest of our time here."
