Mocs RB Tyrell Price Running Hard Again Following 2019 Knee Injury
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Mocs running back Tyrell Price injured his knee in 2019, and basically missed all of that season. Then Covid wiped out UTC’s 2020 fall season.
But Price is finally back in the fold this spring, and back in the end zone.
He has four touchdowns in the Mocs three spring games.
Tyrell Price was a durable, dual threat out of the Mocs backfield in 20-18. Heck he had 29 carries in the game against Western Carolina. But one carry in UTC’s second game of 2019 put Price on the sidelines.
Said Price:”I planted and. I think I probably had a little minor injury to it already, and that just took it on out. A downfall that I had to overcome. It actually just made me stronger. Actually gave me or helped me put more faith in the man above. I just give him credit. It could have been worse.”
And the Mocs are thankful Price is running now like he did in 2018. He had 111 yards rushing last week against Furman.
Said quarterback Drayton Arnold:”Yeah I think he got injured in 2019 unfortunately, but now he looks great. It looks like he hasn’t even been injured at all.”
Said head coach Rusty Wright:”He’s running with a purpose. He’s seeing things a little better than he did two weeks ago and three weeks ago when we first started.”
Said Price:”I mean I feel pretty confident in myself. Like I said. I actually do feel like myself again.”
Price is now 24 years-old. He may get tenure at UTC because he plans to stick around and play this fall.
Said Wright:”He has got to enjoy it to be that old because it’s hard. It’s tough what we’re going through.”
Said Price:”There’s so much stuff I could be out here doing. I just feel like man. I could probably like be doing a few other things. But you only get one chance to play this sport honestly, and you never know when the last time you’re going to play, so I just take advantage of the opportunity.”
