Mocs Softball Opts Out of Season Opening Tournament Due to Weather

(gomocs.com) CHATTANOOGA — Due to impending weather, the Chattanooga Mocs softball program has opted to cancel its travel plans to this weekend’s Trojan Classic hosted by Troy University in Troy, Alabama. The games will not be re-scheduled.

“We had to make the tough decision to opt out of traveling this weekend with the forecast the way it is, and the likely chance of losing games,” said head coach Frank Reed.

“We were excited to compete against some really great competition this weekend. It’s unfortunate, but we feel that this was the best decision.”

Chattanooga will now open the season on Friday, February 19 against WKU at 3 p.m. ET as part of the Chattanooga Challenge at Jim Frost Stadium. It kicks off a 14-game homestand that stretches from February 19 through March 10.

Additional information including fan guidelines for the upcoming home slate will be released ahead of next weekend’s Challenge.
