Morning Round-up: Fleischmann tours Chickamauga Dam, Alcohol Poisoning, & New Dewatering Facility

Congressman Chuck Fleischmann visits the Chickamauga Dam later this morning. He’ll be getting an update on the construction of the new lock. Fleischmann helped secure 30-million dollars this year to get the project going again.

A Sequatchie County woman receives eleven-years in prison for the alcohol poisoning of her eleven-month-old son. 28-year-old Heather Oakes pleading guilty to felony criminal attempt to commit aggravated child abuse. Investigators found vodka in the child’s bottle last October. Prosecutors say the child has recovered.

Tennessee American Water opens a new dewatering facility today. The 18-million dollar operation will process residual sediment to minimize the amount sent to the Moccasin Bend Wastewater Treatment plant.
