Morning Round-up: Bradley Sheriff Facing Lawsuit and Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony
An atheist group and a Bradley County woman are suing Sheriff Eric Watson over posts on the sheriff’s office Facebook page.
The lawsuit was filed Monday and takes issues with a Facebook post from Easter that quoted the Bible.
The group American Atheists and “Jane Doe” want a court order to prevent Watson and his staff from promoting religion on official government media and from censoring comments.
Today, the Chattanooga Area Chamber will connect area businesses to NASA.
Representatives from four NASA Centers, including the Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama will be on hand.
Topics will include NASA’s acquisition process, upcoming business opportunities, best practices to win a contract, helpful marketing tools.
TVA, Volkswagen -Chattanooga , and the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport are some of the businesses involved in today’s meeting at UTC.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Chattanooga Police Department, will host the 2016 Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony.
The event will honor deputies and police officers from our community who have fallen in the line of service and their survivors.
A new name will be added to the memorial wall– that of James Marvin Wallen, Jr. He was Hamilton County Park Ranger.
