Murfreesboro man arrested in shooting

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) – Police in Tennessee say a man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of his father.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release 25-year-old Tanner Lancaster was charged with first-degree murder in Friday night’s shooting of his father, Parry Lancaster.

Maj. Bill Sharp says in the statement that Tanner Lancaster had lived in the home with his parents northwest of Murfreesboro. Sharp says officers responded to a domestic assault call at the home.

Tanner Lancaster is being held without bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. It wasn’t immediately known whether he has an attorney.
