Murray county officials warn of rabies

CHATSWORTH, Ga. (WDEF) — Murray County officials are issuing a rabies warning.

The warning was put out Saturday after a raccoon tested positive for rabies.

Environmental Health officials say the animal was in the area of Central Hill Drive in Chatsworth.

They stress how important pet rabies vaccinations are and say residents should be wary of unfamiliar animals.

If you come across an animal acting unusual or appearing sick contact Murray County Environmental Health.
