N Hamilton County Chamber Council Hosts Harvest Food Drive
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – North Hamilton County Council of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Harvest Food Drive in conjunction with the Soddy Daisy Food Bank Oct. 6 and 7.
The Harvest Food Drive raises funds and accepts nonperishable food items at the Walmart on Dayton Pike in Soddy Daisy.
“We believe in supporting our community, and the Soddy Daisy Food Bank provides for a great need in this area,” said Emily Graffius, North Hamilton County Council board member. “They treat each person they serve with dignity and respect. We’re honored to partner with them for the Harvest Food Drive.”
A $5 donation to the Harvest Food Drive doubles the food that the Soddy Daisy Food Bank receives. The Food Bank purchases items at a discounted rate, so $5 provides about 19 meals for a family struggling with food insecurity.
“The Harvest Food Drive brings our community together to provide nutritious food parcels to feed over 400 families we serve each month,” said Missy McDonald, Community Support Coordinator at the Soddy Daisy Food Bank.
